Sally - I've been car free for about ten months now. Also in a bike-unfriendly city. It can be done, although I do understand the concerns. One difference is - you take completely different routes on a bicycle than you do in a car. No freeways, no major streets. Side streets and residential streets only. It's like living in a different city. Think about it from that perspective. Nice autumn weather is coming soon.

I'm envious! I want a bike again (haven't had one since I was a kid). At this point, though, living in Atlanta where it seems like drivers aim for cyclists, I'd be too scared to get out there.

Carbon free is for me! :)

Part of the reason is the ecofriendliness and part of the reason is the frugality of it... fuel isn't cheap!

I love reading about others that ride. I rode my bike to work for six years until I recently moved to be a little too far to ride my bike.

One thing that I find is really nice to do is ride the bike twice a day, a short ride in the morning and then another short ride in the afternoon.

Glad to hear you enjoying the carbon free lifestyle!
