Monthly Health Checkup - January 2008
In personal finance blogging, some bloggers write monthly net worth updates. I used to do that but stopped when I realized it wasn’t really adding much value. In writing about my health, I think that having monthly health checkups is going to be valuable because:
- Historical record of my progress,
- Keeps me accountable to myself,
- Helps me identify when I slip (and why),
- As months progress, I slowly identify which metrics are important.
So, in the inaugural post, since I only started this journal a few days ago, I’m going to track the following:
- Every trip to the gym - I’m going to list it as I go, along with a general note about when I went, what I did, how I felt, reasons why I felt I did well or did poorly,
- My weight and difference since last month.
As the months go I may identify more metrics to keep track of or consider digging deeper into some of the existing ones.
Gym Attendance
- 30 January: We went at around 8:40pm, which seems like too late for us. The amount of energy I had to work out was really low and I just didn’t feel into the work out. I did seated leg extensions (12/90-10/100-8/110-6/120), shoulder presses (12/90-10/100-8/110-6/120), seated leg presses (12/235, 10/235), and seated leg curls (12/60,10/70,8/80,6/90), and rode the bike for ten minutes.
Weight
I weighed myself last week at 204.5 lbs. Just for a frame of reference, I’m 5′ 9″.
So… let the tracking begin!
